In our fast-paced 'you must do more with your child to make him/her more successful' world, I love the idea of what's being called "minimalist parenting".
This way of parenting can take the desperation and stress out of our lives, and has some great ideas on "doing less", and I personally really appreciate (and feel relieved by) the concept that "we are enough".
The truth is we are enough as we are - right here, right now. We know enough, we love enough and we trust enough to give our children what they need to become healthy adults. It's reminders like these that help us to truly take stock of the important things, and to SLOW DOWN.
Our kids don't need 14 interactive classes to help them socialize - they just watch us interact with our friends and people in the community. Our culture has insidiously taught us that we need to do more, to have more, in order to feel fulfilled. Not true - and our kids know it.
There's aways time to do more, with less.
